The PMMA Graduate School of Ship Management, Maritime Education and Training and Port Management seeks to equip the graduate students with analytical ability to become globally competitive master mariners, chief engineers, shipping executives, naval officers, maritime educators and trainers, and other maritime related services here and abroad. This is in consonance with the school's objectives: the advancement of the shipping business profession in the country making overseas shipping operations of Philippine shipping companies more globally competitive; it also seeks to train more proficient maritime educators not only by virtue of the educational principles and methods they could learn but of deeper understanding of the subject matter.
The objective of the programs is to advance and professionalize the shipping business practice in the country and improve it for global competitiveness through the education and training of the managers in the service. The art of shipping business management is to inculcate among the students the value of holistic approach towards the understanding of issues, concerns and solution of problems.
The programs are designed to respond to the needs of the maritime institution in upgrading the maritime education in the country through the professional development of the faculty and academic personnel of maritime schools. This program combines an in-depth examination of theories and practice in educational process and broadens the student's understanding in the field of marine engineering and marine transportation to make them more effective teachers in the 21st century.
