Anti-Violence Against Women Forum and Parade

At 0530H, early morning of November 25, the Corps of Midshipman started to gather at the San Narciso Plaza for the opening parade of the 18-Day Campaign on Anti-Violence Against Women (VAW) from November 25, 2019 to December 12, 2019. In support to this campaign, the PMMA employees wore orange shirts imprinted with the words “VAW Free Community Starts With Me”, while orange ribbons and balloons were tied on the left arms of the midshipmen/women as they marched towards the PMMA Complex in regimental formation.

Resource Speaker Attorney Lalaine Chao-Ayan of the Public Attorney’s Office discussed the Republic Act 9262 also known as the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004 in the open forum held in the afternoon at the VADM Richard Ritual Hall. The forum was participated in by the Women’s Club Zambales Chapter, San Narciso Barangay Kagawads, all 38 midshipwomen of the Academy and a few 3CL midshipmen.

This campaign is spearheaded by the Gender Awareness and Development (GAD) Focal Person Dr. Analiza G. Taberdo. The PMMA Employees shall be wearing the orange VAW Free shirt every Friday from November 29 until December 13, 2019.
