PMMA Silent Drill Company bags the title of the 1st Philippine Marine Corps Silent Drill Competition
Emphasizing their signature stallion march perfectly synchronized with the beat of a snare drum, and accompanied by the crackling sound of 8-kilogram rifles, the Philippine Merchant Marine Academy Silent Drill Company once again showcased their head-turning performance to bag the championship title of the 1st Philippine Marine Corps Silent Drill Competition held at Fort Bonifacio, Taguig last October 12, 2019.
Joining the competition were the Philippine Coast Guard Officers School (PCGOS) -1st Runner Up; Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) – 2nd Runner Up; and the Maritime Academy of the Asia and the Pacific (MAAP) – Consolation Prize. The said competition was held in celebration of the Philippine Marine Corps’ 69th Anniversary with the theme “The Corps’ finest, the Commandant’s Pride”.
PMMA Superintendent Commodore Joel Y Abutal PMMA joined the members on stage upon receiving their gold medals, trophy, a plaque of recognition and a cash prize. Composed of the Academy’s elite First Class cadets, the PMMA Silent Drill Company is trained by dedicated Tactical Officers ENGR Raymhon Joseph Raquel, ENGR Al Winston Catimbang, CAPT Franco Ladica, 2/O Vicente Panaguiton and ENGR Francis Pagtolon-an, and spearheaded by the Department of Naval Science and Tactics Commandant, LCDR Francisco Madduma PN.
