Rear Admiral Virginio R. Aris PMMA
Rear Admiral Virginio R. Aris, 72, a Master Mariner and a loving husband and father, joined our Creator on August 17, 2019 at St Luke’s Hospital BGC Taguig City
The esteemed Rear Admiral was born on September 3, 1946 to Mr. Mariano Aris and Mrs. Teodora Aris. He served as the Superintendent of the Philippine Merchant Marine Academy from May 27, 1999 until May 20, 2003. He is a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation Major in Navigation and Seamanship, and Master in Shipping Business Management, both from PMMA.
Virgo, as he is fondly called by his friends and relatives, is an active member of various government and non-government associations in the maritime industry. He was also a Captain in the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary Group 106 Squadron, a Past Master of the Bagumbayan Lodge No. 4 F&AM, and an active member of the Plaridel York Rite Bodies.
The PMMA Superintendent, Capt. Joel Y. Abutal, and the PMMA family are grieving over this tragic loss of a great leader.
He is survived by his wife, Nenita, and their three children, Pearl Laramie, Zelzhar Vladimir, and Kyrie Elaissen.
